Waking in the Lap of Lincoln

*
“A House divided against itself cannot stand”*

yet the only door open was Unification via Division.
It had to be maddening.

If one likens confusion to that of a disassembled puzzle

Then such confusion is possibly the product of inner conflict of a convoluted mind.

To see the picture on the box cover one must first separate
the corners from the edges then gather the like colours.

The beauty of words is their ability to move us…
Prayer is fine provided one moves their feet thereafter.

If Lincoln is represented by the edges, and if the words of Lincoln represent the corners or cornerstone…

The words that haunted Lincoln must have been
“We hold these truths to be Self-Evident…
That all Men are created Equal.”

It was the part of the Declaration that was meant to be finished, later.
It is the foundation of the principles of Life, Liberty
and the pursuit of Happiness
endowed by our Creator as Unalienable Rights.

The unavoidable thought of Unification through Division,
the illogical and unreasonable notion of such a thought
had to have been maddening.

Yet before one puts the puzzle together, one must divide it in an organized manner.

When Lincoln reached for the colors he found what he believed all along. Each is vital to the beauty and appreciation to the finished product.

The finished product is a nation that lives up
to truths that are Self-Evident.
It is accomplished by placing one piece in at a time.

Not about Black or White
not about Industrialization vs. Agrarian.
It's about the shade of Freedom
It's about the shadows and silhouettes
The convergence of light thrust into darkness

The colors of the puzzle represent
“That all men are created equal”
which eerily makes the civil war about
ownership and servitude, about the color Green.

Each morning I awaken looking up from the Lap of Lincoln wondering
how vibrant the finished product must be.
Placing one piece in at a time…
It’s absolutely maddening… gjf

Honda Pilot Commercial

The question is...

The troll asks
"What as large as a mountain but as small as a ?
The Answer is...

Which reminds me of a fellow they called Abe who wandered about talking to people, reading copious amounts of literature and studying human nature in general.

Anyway as the story goes he mastered decifering folks through non-verbal communication, reading body language, discerning voice inflection and analyzing word choice to name but a few.

People thought him an unattractive, lanky and odd looking fellow. He also mumbled to himself quite often.

Countless times he'd repeat this montra
" I will be prepared and my time will come".

I suppose that's why people thought him odd;
He suffered from severe headaches along with bouts of depression.
Anyway, he was able to read people real well and had a gift for gab.

His favorite story was the legend of the keeper. It seems there's this fork in the road guarded by a keeper.

He won't let you pass unless you ask the right question first.

People listening to the tale would jump in to correct the storyteller saying " you mean he had to answer the question to pass.
Ol' Abe, he'd hold firm shaking his head saying let me finish.

That was Abe, congenial yet firm and confident. Knowing people as he did, the interruption always came at the same point in the story.

Abe would nonchalantly say "the question is the answer".

At this point he'd have people scratching their heads with a dazed look on their face.

Right on cue his compassion would shine through;
as he explained the meaning to ensure his message was understood.

The guardian of the fork can be either from the Land of Truth or the Land of Lies.

The proper question asked is the path to the Land of the Truth.

Someone would always repeat the querry.
" What question can the traveler ask to reveal the road to the Land of the truth?

Abe would just nod. Invariably the last words would be Really? Honest Abe...

Problems...When there yours they're as a big as a mountain.

..When there someone elses they're as small as a mole hill. gjf

JL Giorgio interview

Watching Over Me

Critically acclaimed breakout novel
This little known fiction titled "Watching Over Me" by JL Giorgio caught my attention on so many levels. As I read this novel depicting unimaginable horror, I surmised the reason it was deemed fiction, but later discovered I couldn't be more wrong.

Moreover I found myself compelled, as did others sharing reviews, of the chemical reaction of fear, terror, determination and martyrdom to mention but a few. Finally, what drove me to the edge was the readers' emotional investment in justice being done. I'm describing typically passive in nature; "law abiding" ethical people transformed into someone looking for blood vengeance. They totally bought in, as did I.

I'm anxious to get right to it, but first thanks for the chance to ask some very personal intimate questions.

Question:
As one reads your account of fear there is an overwhelming sense of fact as opposed to fiction. Was it simply creative license that was the determining factor for classifying the book as fiction or the process of veracity for non-fiction works?

Answer:
How can we measure fear and the chemical reaction in the human spirit? What we are capable of enduring is an individual journey. I can only answer that question from my own experiences.

Without giving too much away to those who have not yet read my story I can tell you, somehow my terror was overpowered by my determination to accomplish my goal "within the law" (although honestly I wanted to say, Screw the law) and rescue my grandson any way I could.

Fear can only get in the way is what I constantly told myself. I did have to push past it every day and trust the darkness would lead to light but it was not without doubt, struggle and indecision. I was in another place...somehow I detached from my human body and my raw emotions.

My daughter affectionately called me "Rice Krispies" She said I snapped, crackled, and all she was waiting for was the "POP".

Q:
The level of intensity, the combination of fear and terror, the unknown elements of what's to follow, the suspense. I can't imagine living life day after day under those conditions, yet I think the reader gleaned that from your portrayal. Is that the product of truth; living your life one second at a time?

A:
In answer to the many times I've been asked, Yes, I did take creative license, but not as the reader would expect. How much is true...all of it...but it has been played down quite a bit...I am still protecting my family.

Too many horrible, unspeakable things happened for me to put down on paper and bare my soul entirely for all to read. So much is still kept inside me. I would rather my family does not know the true extent of the darkness of addiction and where it lead me.

That's a journey I want no one to share...that's mine...The important thing is that I hope by sharing as much as I did it will help someone else who is stumbling along the path of the unknown and give them faith and hope...that all things are possible if you believe and that no matter how long or hard the journey...we are never truly alone.

Angel Blessings,
JLG

My dear friend from Romania,

On behalf on the 300 odd million residents of the great nation of the United States of America;

I offer the Olive branch of President Elect Obama in the spirit of the democratic process. In the event circumstances do not work out to your approval, I shall request renegotiation to the notice of revocation of our independence.

Presently 95% “of the people” are experiencing an economic shakedown by those elected officials of whom you refer to as incompetent. I assure you a great deal of the 285 million average Americans of which I refer, were attempting to employ your model of “21 hints to a happy life.”

Unfortunately, greed and politics pervaded the American dream.

With respect to Politics, I think you would tend to agree those in power tend to be reluctant to relinquish such power…

With respect to greed, I think you would tend to agree it goes hand in glove with the capitalistic model. (See Adam Smith)

Item 13 is a deal breaker. It is non-negotiable. All other items are on the table.
